Celebration of Architecture and Design Award Program
Design Competition Rules - For the 2016 Program
Excellence, Merit and Honor awards will be presented to members whose projects are entered in the Society's National Professional Design Award competition and are selected for meritorious design by an awards' jury of professionals in the architectural and related fields.
* Serve as an awards outlet for ALL project teams.
* Activate client participation in design excellence.
* Recognize cross discipline design interaction.
* Advance the profession of architecture.
All submittals must be constructed commissioned projects which have progressed to near state of completion (with the exception of Category C).
Projects may be submitted by the: Firms or Individuals, Architects, Interior Designers, Planners, Landscape Architects, Contractors, Engineers, Owners Rep Firm.
The jury will consist of nationally recognized architects and scholars. Decisions of the jury shall be final. Additional recognition may be granted by the Chair of the Awards Committee.
Each entry will be judged based on: Overal Aesthic Compatibility with Surroundings, Program Solution and Construction System and Details.
At the Jury's discretion, the number of awards may be limited or expanded in any category. Special awards may be designated by the jury. The jury reserves the right to adjust the category of a submission. No entry may be submitted which has previously won a National SARA Award. Council winners are encouraged to submit. Team projects will be treated as if presented by a single firm. Awards will be issued in the name of the firm. Certificates will be presented at the National Conference Celebration of Architecture and Design Awards Banquet on October 7th. Clients are encouraged to attend with their project teams.

PRESENTATION OF AWARDS
Certificates will be presented at the 2016 Celebration of Architecture and Design on Friday, October 7th at the Doubletree Paradise Valley Hotel, Scottsdale, Arizona. Clients are encouraged to attend along with entrants. Certificates will be presented in duplicate for the architect and client. Additional certificates are available, at the winner's request, for a nominal fee of $100.00 each.
All entries are accepted with the explicit free right of publication, reproduction and use by SARA and its sponsors without need for further approval. SARA is not responsible for protection of the submission. Each indivdual submitting a project for judging guarantees that they have the legal right to submit the project and that any permission associated with the entry has been obtained from the architect of record, designer, photographer and owner. SARA is not responsible for verification of entry submission rights. Award recipients will be notified following the judging in mid-August.

DECLARATION OF INTENT
The Declaration of Intent and Submittal Dates are yet to be determined for the 2016 Program. They will be posted as soon as possible.
A - ARCHITECTURE: projects of all types and sizes, including Single & Multi-Family Residences, Dormitories, Retirement Homes, etc.
B - INTERIORS
C - PROJECTS NOT CONSTRUCTED
D - PLANNING
E - LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
F - RENDERING/COMPUTER GRAPHICS
G - RElATED ARTS: Including but not limited to: Furniture, Sculpture, Lighting, Hardware, Installations, Set Design, Project Elements, Architectural Graphics, Signage, Product Design, etc.

SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
Entries must be submitted in the following manner:
* Specific instructions on submitting images electronically will be provided upon receipt of Declaration of Intent form and payment.
* Submit not more than twelve (12) digital images in .jpg format with a maximum individual image size of 3MB on CD-Rom. All images to be 300dpi.
Complete data sheet provided to you upon receipt of Declaration of Intent. Provide Project Statement in Word Format.
