Namita Modi, SARA is the founder of Modi Architecture & Design, a full-service architectural design practice focused on private home commissions, residential development, and urban design collaborations in the NYC region. In her career, she has designed over one hundred projects, including private residences, rural conservation prototypes, and sustainable compounds throughout the US.

Her speculative design projects include ecologically driven installations for Open Air Lab, a collaborative at New Inc, a museum-led cultural incubator in NYC. Namita has been a co-chair for the AIANY CRAN knowledge committee since 2019, where she has curated over three dozen programs exploring innovation in practice, design, and construction techniques emerging from custom residential design. She has served on several design juries nationally and has lectured at professional architecture conferences.

Namita is also a mentor and educator to emerging architects in her community and within a network of architecture schools in the Northeast. She holds a BA from Barnard College and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, and she is an architect registered in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
