A production by Renee Wang, Marton Baksa, Daniel Chuang and Caleb Cogan, all 10th grade students from Avenues: The World School.
The Barcelona Chair by Mies van der Rohe is perhaps one of the most noteworthy designs in furniture right now, but what actually goes into the making of this iconic piece? Tune into 100 Years of Bauhaus: The Barcelona Chair, a two-part podcast which explains every single step that goes into making a Barcelona Chair. In order to create and sell this chair, it has gone through countless amounts of people from all around the world. This podcast will cover everything about the chair from its German-American design, Italian materials and manufacturing, to its global retailing. We were inspired to make this podcast after listening to a Planet Money podcast episode named “Planet Money Makes A T-Shirt,” which follows the making of a t-shirt around the world.
