Looking at these uncertain COVID-19 virus times, we see schools, businesses, and public gathering places closing across the country.

This especially brings to mind a project we recently completed last year. It was a Sorority House on the University of Minnesota St. Paul Campus. It consisted of a major remodeling and addition to the Lambda Delta Phi Sorority. The scope was to add additional rooms as well as accessible areas and a facelift to an aged building. A side ramp entry, accessible bedroom / bath, and fully accessible kitchen and living area were added on the main level. We designed a traditional full length front porch as a welcoming feature as well as a point for social gathering.

I make note of this project because schools such as the University of Minnesota have closed and are sending students home, many for the rest of the school year. As an Architect I feel a sense of sadness that the students of this Sorority will be leaving and not using their new home for the rest of the year.
