As Founding Principal, Stephan Jaklitsch, FAIA, developed the practice into an award-winning architectural firm with a diverse, international portfolio of work known for its considered approach to design. Stephan is interested in how architecture, landscape and urbanism affect the quality of life, through the lens of equity and sustainability, and is dedicated to crafting spaces, buildings and products that convey a sense of purpose and meaning to people. As an advocate for physiological well-being in the built environment, he is active in numerous organizations that are devoted to public education and engagement on matters related to designed and natural environments. 

The firm’s projects have won numerous awards from the American Institute of Architects, including a National Honor Award; been awarded by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture & Design; Architizer; and honored by the Japan Institute of Architecture, among many other prestigious national and international design institutions. Stephan is a 1992 Graduate of the Princeton School of Architecture and 1989 Graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology. As a result of his achievements, he was elevated in 2020, to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects, one of the highest honors the Institute bestows.
